RAK Attack
Well, I have been seeing more and more RAKs and my blog has been visited over 200 times! AWESOME!! I have placed over 50 RAKs over the last week so I am hoping that has multiplied and there have been well over 50 passed on! Be sure to share how you have been RAKd or RAKd someone else at you.have.been.RAKd@gmail.com. I will continue to share those who email me and will share anonymously.
I have started my own Pinterest page as well to inspire more RAKs and help give other ideas as well. If you search RAK will can find a ton of amazing ideas! Remember, no RAK is too small!
Hope you have a great day and RAK on!
Sincerely,
-Me

RAK and Roll
Photot by: ayshfi.wordpress.com
Today, we RAK. Well, today I am not feeling the best. 'Tis, cold and flu season...yippeee! But, I will suck it up and work and RAK where I can. One RAK is better than no RAK. I hope as you got about your day and do a RAK, you think the same way. Try to find a way to incorporate RAK into your day, everyday. Make it a habit. I heard it take 21 days of doing something to make it a habit. That is less than a month and a amazing life long habit.
Hope everyone has a great day and look forward to hearing about your RAK experience at you.have.been.rakd@gmail.com.

RAK are contagious!
This weekend I received another email about someone who received a RAK.
"I came back to my desk after another meeting and I found a little bag of chocolates sitting at my desk with this note on them. After all the stress we have been going through on the job, little things like that can really melt away the tension. Whoever sent them my way, a very emphatic and grateful Thank You!”
It is so cool to see RAK spreading. My weekend was RAK free as we stayed home and out of the storms and wind but I thought a lot about those who were affected by the terrible weather and wish I could send the biggest RAK ever to them. For now though, all I can offer is my thoughts and prayers and will send a monetary donation later today. I hope if you are able to, you will do the same. I cannot imagine losing everything in the blink of an eye.
Today's RAK will be in honor of those from Washington, IL (#WashingtonIl). Today, if you receive a RAK, know that this was in honor of someone who lost it all and remember how very lucky we are. Keep RAKing and remember we RAK because we can, because we want to be the good in this world we want to see and because everyone wants to know they are thought of.
Happy Monday and Happy RAKing!

If you know....
Well sooner or later, my true identity will be revealed. :) I am Batman. Okay, not quite. But, if you are magical enough to put the info together and find out who I am, please, keep it in your magical brain. It's just for fun!

Day 5...BAM!
Well, we are on day five of my RAK marathon. I have been coming up with a few creative RAK but still nothing too crazy. I wish I had a ton of money to hand out to buy things people need but for right now I am okay with just being able to put a little smile on someones face.
On the way to work every day I listen to the Elvis Duran and the Monring Show - @elvisduran. Greg T or Skeery (cannot remember which one) said he gave his extra parking pass to the car behind him this weekend. He says all week that he has now been waiting for something good to happen.
I am hoping that people who have received my RAK are not hoping that too and getting discouraged when they do not have "karma" come full circle. We do good things and nice things because it is the right thing to do. Not because it may benefit us in the future. I keep referring to this quote by Princess Diana but I think it says it best -
"Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation
of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you."
As the holidays approach, there will be more opportunities than ever to give a RAK. Once you start looking, you will see so many opportunities that you will not know what to do!
Hope everyone has a great day and Happy RAKing!
Sincerely,
Me

Little Discouraged
Well, I am on day four and I honestly am getting a little discouraged! I have placed over 40 RAK and had not received an email, a blog comment or seen a rack being passed on. Not seeing any RAK being passed on is the biggest discouragement, but I will RAK on anyway!!
BUT WAIT!!! I just got my first email at i.have.been.RAKd@Gmail.com!! Yeahy!! I am glad someone was able to enjoy and pass the RAK on.
"I received a Milky Way candy bar just in time for lunch. I love some chocolate after lunch. I will keep the card going with a $5. bill taped to the back of it."-Kris
Glad to see a fellow RAKer passing it on.
Hope everyone has great day and Happy RAKing!

Doing What Comes Naturally
So today is day three of my RAK adventure. I have RAKd my work, a school, a lady at the store and a few other various locations. Nothing big...just a candy bar, a nice note, a bag of tea, money on the vending machine or a bracelet. Just a little something that will let someone know they are thought of and put a smile on their face. That is such a small, easy concept and what RAKing is all about.
So today, try doing ONE thing with that intention in mind. So far, I had told no one I am doing this and the love and anonymity of it. I have not received any emails about anyone's RAK experience at i.have.bee.rakd@gmail.com, but I am sure that sooner or later someone will be touched enough to share.
Until then, Happy RAKing!

day someone might do the same for you.

How the RAKing all started
RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) is not a new term. RAKing has been going on for hundreds of years. But, as time has gone by, RAK has become a thing of the past. Nowadays, when something is free or too good to be true, we are scared and suspicious. "What do you want?" is the first question that comes to our minds. All too often we hear "nothing is free." Well I plan on putting a spin on that.
A month or so ago I found a wallet. It had more than enough cash in it to buy groceries for the month, a tank of gas and go away for the weekend. Yeah....that kind of cash. BUT....it also had a drivers license in it with a name and address of the person. Without hesitation I drove to the address and delivered the wallet.
On the way home, I explained to my kids, if you find something that is not yours, you give it back. They totally got it. Later on when I told older adults about the wallet, I was in shock at their reaction. Too many people asked why I did not keep the money. Most of them argued that no one does good things like that anymore.....this is a dog eat dog world.....got to fend for yourself! How could I explain this to my kids so easily and to adults it was "a thing of the past." This did not settle easy with me.
That is where my RAK idea came in. One of those particular adults was adamant that I did the wrong thing by giving the money back. He knew that I could have used it and thought it would have been okay if I kept it. This is a well educated- hard, working, honest person, in my eyes. My goal now is to do Random Acts of Kindness until this person receives one. I will lay the stepping stones and will perform RAK through out my day but will not directly give a RAK to this person. That is where YOU come in. If you receive a RAK, you must pass it on. If you want to start RAK on your own, go for it! It you have time, share your RAK experience by emailing me at i.have.been.RAKd@gmail.com. I would like to share them on my blog and show everyone there is good out there and it can be contagious! Let start a RAK epidemic!
Feel free to use my card for your RAK.
HAPPY RAKing!!!
